Is the Fletcher location a sit down place for lunch or only carryout??
Excellent baked goods, sandwiches, coffee!
Excellent breads, even the day-old loaves & scones were wonderful. Coffee was rich and flavorful, and the egg/cheese biscuit was to-die-for! Made to order, and really quick. I love this little place. Their Sister bakery/pizzeria in Flat Rock always puts a smile on my face with their lovingly made food and shady outdoor tables. Very family friendly.
MoreI had the tuna melt panini. It was great. They have expanded since I was there and have a full sit down restaurant area. They have baked goods, bread, soup, sandwiches and coffee. Great place!
MoreGreat place for breakfast and pastries. Not far from the highway in Fletcher. I hope to get back soon.
MoreYummy detour on my way to the Fabric & Foam Outlet across the street 😋 Got a blueberry and peach tart for a sweet ceremony offering and a wedding cookie for myself ❤️ So tasty and fresh!
MoreI love this place for breakfast and lunch, quality is good, service is friendly, and the food is delicious, way better than the chains. Support local!
MoreLoved the food and atmosphere. Had lox toast and wedding cookies, delicious
I ordered the Avocado BLT and was blown away! First off it is huge, twice as big as I expected. Second it had an entire sheet of bacon that was bigger the bread in all directions. Everything else was fresh and well balanced.Their oatmeal raisin cookies are rounded on top (not flat) which made me a little skeptical but they are hard on the outside and a little gooey in the middle in a way I have never experienced before. You must try one (or three). The ginger cookies have the perfect amount (a lot!) of spice.I won’t get it to it but the scones are worth an entirely separate review. I don’t even like scones but I tried my wife’s blueberry one and it was so good I wished I ordered one.I went at 10am and they were out of bread. I totally understand why. This place is worth waking up early for.
MoreStaff was not real attentive....you have to tell one person your order and then repeat it to the cashier...bread was great sandwich was ok... desserts are excellent
MoreThey brew Counter Culture coffee! Such a warm cozy quiet atmosphere, friendly staff, amazing baked goods.
MoreNothing for breakfast. Sat inside for 10 minutes and saw not a single employee.
Well...I think I caught them on a rough Saturday morning. I walked in at 10:11am and finally got my warm quiche (it was cold at first serving) and my raspberry oat bar at 10:38am. 27 minutes to wait for baked goods which are already baked and only need 10 mins in the oven, is obviously far too long. So, why 3 stars and not 1?There was an 8 member family which came in right in front of me and the staff was working to fill their order. I think they ordered 3 items each. So 24 items. Also, nice people. Eternally patient people run the counter. This was not a problem which cannot be solved by some strong front management. Maybe the owner or actual manager was out for the morning. Yes. It was the epitome of inefficiency in action. However, nice people, descent food and a small town atmosphere was worth it. Just don’t be in a hurry if you go into the Village Bakery on a weekend morning...I guess.
MoreThe best bakery in all of the surrounding Asheville area. I like to go here two or three times a week just to drink the coffee. If you bring your own cup, it's only $2.40 versus $3.50 or more for the coffee if you get it using their cup. This coffee is so amazing. The treats are really good too. Funny story about this location, there were two other bakeries that trying to make it in the same exact location, each one after another, each going about one or two years before closing. These guys have a great name, have opened, and even expanded into the adjacent room. Now you have a great location, ample room to sit down, and all kinds of delicious pastries and treats to eat. Good times.
MoreSolid breakfast place. Bit of a wait for how slow it was but worth it!
Friendly staff and a unique assortment of delicious baked goods. I love the spinach and feta croissant. They serve breakfast and lunch and offer a great space for a quick meet up with friends or coworkers.
MoreDecent bakery, food was tasty and staff was very friendly. They were out of several items and sandwich bread choices early lunchtime.
MoreSeriously the best turkey avocado sandwich I’ve ever had!
Love the ambiance, food and drink selections and friendly helpful staff. Felt immediately at home in this space.
MoreGreat food but horrible service. Plan on waiting at least 15 minutes for anything. I called in a to go order today and arrived 20 minutes after placing the order, only to see that they hadn’t even started preparing my order. Ordering coffee at the counter is the same experience. I really want this local business to be successful, but the reputation for service will have to improve. Everyone in the area talks about how slow it is to stop here.
MoreGreat food and desserts!! My kids love when I take them there for a treat. Friendly staff and cozy.
MoreThe artisan sourdough bread is my favorite, I come back each week for a loaf. I sincerely appreciate the quality of ingredients and the care in preparing food.
MoreGood selections of sandwiches and they're on the healthy side.
The deserts I got were really not sweet. Cookies, fudge, bread and a quiche. The best was the quiche. I will not be going back.
MoreThe pastries are delicious, the coffee is nice and bold, the foods are amazing. Would recommend them highly. Plus the staff is so friendly!
MoreBest cakes in town. Real buttercream for the win!
They have good pastries, bread and coffee. There is more breakfast and lunch options but I didn't try those.
MoreOne of the best in town. I love their almond croissant, which seems to be little dry but close to real French croissant. I love it.
MoreNeat, clean bakery and coffee venue, great prices, friendly employees. We had stopped at a well known bakery just up the road and was overwhelmed at their high prices. Glad we drove a couple of miles and stopped here, well worth it!! Will be back
MoreAmazing quiche, biscotti, croissants, and pecan bars! We will definitely be back anytime we are in town!
MoreThis place is so yummy! I got the Apple Tarte and the Peanut Butter Quinoa. OMG! the best! Trust me the PB Quinoa sounds like it wouldn't be good, but it looks & taste like a brownie! The Apple Tarte was crispy & fresh! Fresh apples with a buttery crispy crust! The Chx salad on a bed of lettuce with lemon vinaigrette dressing is yummy. The service is awesome! You'll love this place. My new go to!
MoreFew things make me happier than delicious neighborhood bakeries. Delicious danish, great people, and tasty coffee from Counter Culture.
MoreI am on the road for work a lot and seriously hate fast food. I got the egg and cheese plus avocado which came to $7, and is definitely enough for two people. I assumed it was going to be puny and it was huge and delicious. I grabbed two cookies for my kids for afterschool and again they were huge. The service was really nice. WiFi also helpful for work.
MoreGreat place.. Bread, bake goods, lunch, lattes
Phenomenal custom ordered cakes. My favorite is carrot cake which is not overly sweet.Local fruit tarts, pies, pastries, bagels, bread, cookies, sandwiches, coffee bar...The staff are professional, knowledgeable and happy to help answer questions/make suggestions.
MoreNot quite what I was hoping for a $7 latte & bagel. My "for here" beverage came out in a disposable cup which was only 3/4 full. The latte was watery and the foam felt machine produced (instead of that creamy glory that is a proper latte). Cream cheese costs the same as the bagel itself...That said, the staff was prompt and the cream cheese volume sufficient, if obnoxiously priced. The bagel was yummy, too.
MoreIt was my 1st time here with a small group from church . It was a bit of a wait for our food But it was well worth the wait it was all handmade fresh and delicious
MoreEverything is so fresh. This is a bacon, egg, and Swiss cheese, cheese bagel. Absolutely soooo delicious. Very friendly and very good prices for such quality food. Definitely my new spot. Also, quick and friendly service.
MoreHad breakfast here for the 1st time, lox on sourdough, add egg, it was gooood, love the goat cream cheese added a nice tart flavor, and the pickled onion. Love all their bake goods. Yum, will return
MoreGood food great service! #alonetogether
Great avocado toast. Nice folks. Comfortable cafe.
My go to for pastries and coffee on this side of Asheville.
Always excellent croissants! And the day old bread section is fun to comb through.
MoreDelicious! Had the turkey sandwich with pesto mayo. Very flavorful with hearty amounts of turkey and cheese. Also, love the coconut macaroon with a chocolate underbelly
MoreWhat a sweet little gem tucked away in a small plaza in Fletcher! Excellent savory fare, delectable pastries, organic coffee and teas and a nice variety of artisanal breads from Flat Rock Bakery. Try the cream cheese brownies or the pecan bars - better than mom used to make!
MoreLove their Chai Tea!!
Do you like things that taste really good? If you answered yes this is the place for you.
MoreI had not visited. And a little while for being so busy, but they now have. Eateries section. F a pretty good assortment of things to order to eat. The section to eat. A natural look very comforting. And comfortable. It is beautiful., so you can eat in or take out. Bakery has. Various. Sweets to eat breads are available too. The confections are not real sweet.
MoreThe BEST COFFEE ever. Very smooth, not bitter. The food is fresh and local. Bagels made in house. Highly recommend!
